Britain's Joint Academic Network was the equivalent of Australia's AARNET, an early Internet based largely on a backbone of universities and research centres.

Huston had forwarded a copy of the letter to Peter Elford, who assisted Huston in managing AARNET.

We will probably shut down access of `cappella' to AARNet at this stage, and let the police go about their business of prosecuting these people.
