In designing BCF, “I wear these two different hats,” Blaine says.

Both in the Crow’s ground-level showroom and upstairs in the intimate Nest space, BCF programming includes ticketed showcases, educational panels and workshops, parties, an evening highlighting nine college-student performers, and more.

Over the last 13 years, the BCF homes have served more than 6,000 children, says its co-founder Peter Genza.

BCF opened its doors in 2010, initially offering accommodation for up to 10 children with cancer at a house in Kampala.
