Bengal tiger

A Royal Bengal tiger was killed and dismembered by a mob in India's north eastern state of Assam, a forest official has said.

The sanctuary said it had lost five African serval cats, four bobcats, two Canada lynx and a Bengal tiger, among others.

According to local media reports, there have been a string of incidents in the enclosure over the years - including when a then-nine-year-old male Bengal tiger, Kato, bit two handlers back in 2011.

Officials raiding a property near the Mexican capital have seized 25 exotic animals, including lions, pumas and a Bengal tiger.
