The bride and groom, both lawyers, work together in Louisville, Ky., at Ruml & Bozell, a law firm that handles trust and estate matters.

Mrs. Ruml, 38, graduated from Duke and received a law degree from the University of Kentucky.

Mr. Ruml sent Ms. Elrod a text, and within a week and a half, they had their first date.

He is a son of Doriane Carter Ruml of Lexington, Mass., and David J. Ruml of South Strafford, Vt. The groom’s mother retired as a reference librarian at Regis College in Weston, Mass., and is a docent at the Boston Athanaeum, an independent library and cultural institution.
