Thousands of properties in Plymouth, Bere Alston, Yelverton, and Tavistock lost supplies following a burst water main on Sunday.

Bere Alston Primary Academy said it had to send students home on Wednesday morning due to having no water.

A spokesperson for the water company said teams were "carefully recharging the network" to fully restore supplies for its customers in places including Tavistock, Bere Alston and Yelverton.

In between, Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston, made an error in two chances at first base and struck out in one at-bat in his only big-league game in 1936.

And, given the roster talent that will be at his disposal over the duration of his new deal, he appears to be on a likely Hall of Fame path, on track to join Walter Alston and Tommy Lasorda as potentially the third Dodgers manager to be inducted into Cooperstown.
