Built for mine owner Amasa Campbell and his family, visitors can see the game room where Campbell entertained Spokane’s big wigs plus his wife Grace’s gorgeous all-pink reception room.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — As the third president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Francis Amasa Walker helped usher the school into national prominence in the late 1800s.

Connor Sports uses maple harvested from the country’s northern forests, often in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and all floors are crafted in the company’s facility in Amasa, Michigan.

Her next-to-last child, Amasa, was my great-great grandfather.

I’ve become obsessed with two ancestors in particular: Permelia Van Valkenburgh and her son Amasa Matoon Van Valkenburgh.
