“America the Beautiful”

Underwood is accustomed to being talked about: She angered some in January when she accepted an invitation to sing “America the Beautiful” at President Trump’s second inauguration — a decision she made, she said at the time, in “the spirit of unity.”

Musician Troy Andrews, popularly known as Trombone Shorty, and Christian singer-songwriter Lauren Daigle played America the Beautiful - giving the track a feel-good New Orleans vibe.

Before kickoff Sunday, Jon Batiste sang a jazzy rendition of the national anthem for which he accompanied himself on piano, and the duo of Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle performed a cheerful “America the Beautiful.”

Other songs will also be performed prior to kick-off including America the Beautiful, by Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle, as well as Lift Every Voice and Sing by Ledisi.

Grammy winner Trombone Shorty and Christian recording artist Lauren Daigle will perform “America the Beautiful,” and Grammy winner Ledisi will perform “Let Every Voice Sing” before the game.
