The Stanford commit has established himself among the best pitchers in coach David Gellatly’s 31 seasons, ranking in the same breath as Andre Pallante, Michael McGreevy and Kolby Allard, all of whom reached the majors during Gellatly’s tenure.

Zion Johnson could move from left guard to center, which would put returning center Bradley Bozeman, right guard Trey Pipkins III and free-agent acquisition Andre James in line to compete for the left guard position.

Offensive tackles Jaylan Jeffers and Ford both wear No. 77; defensive backs Andre Jordan Jr. and Bryon Threats both wear No. 2; linebackers Isaiah Chisom and Jalen Woods both wear No. 9; and Cogshell and defensive back LaRue Zamorano both wear No. 24.

His addition will add some competition, especially at left guard, where the options could be incumbent starter Zion Johnson, returning center Bradley Bozeman, former right guard Trey Pipkins III or free agent signing Andre James.
