At her newly refurbished home in Berw Road in Pontypridd, community care worker Rebecca is putting the finishing touches to the Christmas decorations.

People had to leave four homes in Berw Road, Pontypridd, after a retaining wall collapsed at the back of properties.

“Berw” is the South Welsh name for the effervescence in the deep receptacle in which a Cataract foams after its fall; it is applied also to the Cataract itself, as “Berw Rhondda,” the fall of the River Rhondda.
