Burrell Collection

They stole a cache of artefacts, some on loan from the world famous Burrell Collection.

The Burrell Collection has been named the Art Fund Museum of the Year 2023, which comes with a £120,000 award.

Since reopening, the Burrell Collection welcomed over 500,000 visitors and contributed an economic impact of £20m for Glasgow in its first six months.

They are joined on the shortlist by Glasgow's Burrell Collection and the MAC in Belfast.

The Lord Lieutenant said she met the King last year at the opening of the refurbished Burrell Collection and hoped to welcome the royal couple back to Glasgow "very soon".
