I saw a documentary about eight years ago at the New York Film Festival about the life of Maria Callas, and I just filed it away to someday do something with.

Music critics who covered Callas, wrote that “Jolie would make a great plastic doll of Callas.”

Although she has remained in the spotlight in recent years, her portrayal of opera singer Maria Callas is her first Oscar contender for some time.

One notable absence in the best actress category is Angelina Jolie, who has been tipped for awards success for playing opera singer Maria Callas in Maria.

This was, in part, what drew him to making a prismatic study of Callas.
