The reception at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday evening, attended by the King and Queen Camilla, is in honour of community projects helping people who are living with cancer and for health groups trying to prevent cancer.

His attendance at the funeral meant his wedding to Camilla was delayed to 9 April and the King and Queen's 20-minute private meeting with Pope Francis fell on their 20th wedding anniversary.

He met King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Casa San Marta and then appeared on the Vatican balcony for Palm Sunday four days later on 13 April, mingling with a crowd of 20,000 people in St Peter's Square, against doctors' advice.
