Canticle of Canticles

The Canticle of Canticles presupposes for its just interpretation a certain familiarity with the details of Solomon's life during the golden period of his reign.

In the Canticle of Canticles the Lamb of God is pictured as feeding among the lilies.

The reference to the Song of Songs—also the Song of Solomon and Canticle of Canticles—may require a little explanation.

He devoted much labor to his sermons on the Canticle of Canticles, the work remaining unfinished at his death.

These works are all lost, excepting some part of the parables extant in the book of Proverbs; and his chief poem called the Canticle of Canticles.
