As to who was the muse of the piece, in 2015 the Athens Voice claimed they had identified her as Danae Stratou - the wife of the Greek finance minister, Yanis Varoufakis.

She talked to Danae Vega, who bought a home with her sister Ashley a year ago in San Bernardino County, Calif. Their whole family, including another sister, three brothers and their parents pitched in.

Whenever Danae Vega, 33, took a shower in her Southern California home, it was an ordeal.
