Local media outlets report authorities say Darvon Malik Fletcher of Charlotte is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 14-year-old Taylor Sotera Smith, who police say is also from Charlotte.

Those people included the family of Kira Gilbert, who died in 2009 at age 22 of a heart attack after taking a generic version of the painkiller Darvon.
