Dax

A 17-year-old boy died after being stabbed in the chest in the south-west town of Dax, while a 23-year-old man who was riding a scooter in central Paris was also killed after being hit by a vehicle.

Shares in the US and EU fell on Friday after the latest threats, with the S&P 500 down about 0.7% and Germany's Dax and France's Cac 40 ending the day down more than 1.5%.

Dax: There was never really any doubt.

Germany's Dax plummeted 10% in the first few minutes of trading, before recovering ground, after Asian markets dropped steeply overnight, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng experiencing its fourth-biggest one-day decline ever.

The French Cac 40 index and German Dax followed a similar pattern.
