The early January enforcement actions involved about 60 agents from El Centro Sector, based in the Imperial Valley, near the U.S.

“Agendas in Schools? After being invited to a career fair @ Coachella Valley High, the principal told our recruiter to leave - no explanation given,” Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino based in El Centro, Calif., said on the social media platform X. “Students depend on leadership promoting an environment of learning and creativity, not agenda driven edicts.”

The organization came on the radar in 2021, when Border Patrol agents from the Indio station on the I-10 noticed Guatemalan undocumented immigrants being transported westbound from points in New Mexico and Arizona, said Gregory K. Bovino, chief patrol agent of Border Patrol’s El Centro sector.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in federal court in the Eastern District of California, alleges that agents from the Border Patrol’s El Centro sector violated protections afforded by federal law and the U.S.

A spokesperson for the Border Patrol’s El Centro sector said the agency does not comment on pending litigation.
