The federal agency also said immigration agents wear vests that say “ICE/ERO” or “Homeland Security” on them, and the name of their respective department is on either one or both sides of their vehicles.

ERO agents target public safety threats, the website states, such as convicted criminal undocumented immigrants, gang members and those who “illegally re-entered the country after being removed and immigration fugitives ordered removed by federal immigration judges.”

Referring to unaccompanied children as “UAC,” the memo states: “ERO officers should remember they are to enforce final orders of removal, where possible, and HSI will pursue criminal options for UAC who have committed crimes.”

The review of sponsorships under the Trump administration is being led by two branches of ICE: Enforcement and Removal Operations, or ERO, and Homeland Security Investigations, or HSI.
