HBO has seen the phenomenon in previous seasons with, “������ are you doing? Texting” and Jennifer Coolidge’s legendary line, “These gays, they’re trying to murder me,” which can be found on a variety of T-shirts and baseball hats sold on Etsy.

Just search the word on Etsy and you’ll find dozens of pithy phrases on cute stickers and T-shirts that minimize or contradict the word’s original import.

Their nicknames for each other — Pikachu and Hamster — are displayed on a plaque in the living room alongside Pez dispensers in vibrant hues, the custom wooden cake topper in their likeness purchased on Etsy for their 2012 wedding and an entire gallery wall of photographs of family members.

Fabric and crafts retailer Joann is shutting down all of its U.S. stores, leaving cosplayers, seamstresses and small Etsy business owners in the dust.

Her “happy place” is telling stories onscreen or in music, but she adds, “I used to say I’d be really happy making my own candles and selling them on Etsy.”
