European Atomic Energy Community

The European Atomic Energy Community — whose membership is composed of E.U. nations but which lies outside the authority of the European Parliament — and 49 countries made a joint appeal to the I.A.E.A., saying that Russia should leave the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, according to the Ukrainian prime minister, Denys Shmyhal.

Details on domestic replacements for Copernicus—the EU Earth observation program—and the European Atomic Energy Community are still being worked out.

On Friday evening, the ministry announced the expulsion of 18 European Union diplomats from Moscow, in retaliation for the bloc’s declaring 19 diplomats from the Russian mission to the EU and to the European Atomic Energy Community persona non-grata.

The withdrawal agreement confirms that the UK will leave the European Atomic Energy Community, Euratom, when it pulls out of the EU.
