Growing up in the San Joaquin Valley, with the Everly Brothers or Willie, there’s just a certain believability to their performance and songwriting that I’ve always reached for, no matter where I was.

Along the way, he recorded and toured with Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, Leon Russell, Doctor John, the Everly Brothers and many more.

She loved music from a young age, favoring harmony groups like the Ink Spots, the Everly Brothers and the clusters of young men who sang a cappella on nearby street corners.

Norah Jones, who recorded an album of Everly Brothers tunes with Armstrong in 2013, isn’t surprised that this once-scrappy punk band has scored some of its biggest hits in a folky acoustic mode.

Wachtel and Zevon met while playing with the Everly Brothers in the early ’70s, and it was Phil Everly who inspired the song.
