Galion Su, from Trinidad, stood near the camp’s gate with her face uncovered, hoping to get out and look for her teenage son, who had been arrested by Kurdish forces in January.

The Galion Police Department, which is investigating the incident, collected the boy’s candy and fake vampire teeth that he had been wearing.

Federal authorities alleged that a 19-year-old Galion man broke into the family’s home and held them hostage overnight in November 2015.

A 24-year-old Galion man accused of helping with the crimes pleaded guilty to the same charges and received a 25-year sentence.
