The former Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams is continuing to give evidence in his libel case against the BBC at Dublin's High Court.

Monday’s announcement that Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., is “stepping back” from his role as the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee confirms what was apparent four months ago: Democrats made the wrong decision.

A libel case brought by Gerry Adams against the BBC is scheduled to begin at the High Court in Dublin on Tuesday.

Gerry Connolly announced his retirement on Monday, after more than a decade in the House of Representatives.

Ms Wandel, 23, is accused of sending letters and messages to Kate, Gerry, Sean and Amelie McCann between 3 January 2024 and 15 February this year as well as going to the family's home in Rothley, Leicestershire.
