Gran Canaria

Almost four tonnes of cocaine trafficked from Brazil and Colombia were seized and 48 suspects arrested in raids across Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.

The industrial action was due to be across the Canary Islands but an agreement was reached on Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

Managers at the marine zoo said scientific examination of those orcas by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria showed the deaths were unavoidable.

They moved to Liverpool as a teenager and began performing in local bars and clubs as The Vivienne - named after their love of Vivienne Westwood clothing - before moving to Gran Canaria as a performer at Sparkles Show Bar.

They later went on to live and perform in Gran Canaria.
