One could argue that this hyperrealism is paramount for a third-person action game that presents a pictorial realm of visions and wonders, of fire-breathing humans and slithering giants.

Art critics have come up with various terms for work like DeAndrea’s, including hyperrealism, although DeAndrea notably has said he doesn’t consider himself an artist.

The play, which I saw with English surtitles at Krakow’s Divine Comedy International Theatre Festival last month, is a great example of the limits — and buttons — that theater pushes, through the devices of hyperrealism.
