Last Thursday, the IAEA's board formally declared Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations for the first time in 20 years.

In 2015, Iran agreed a deal with six world powers under which it accepted restrictions on its nuclear activities and allowed rigorous monitoring by the IAEA's inspectors in return for relief from crippling sanctions.

The IAEA's latest assessment, longer and more comprehensive than usual, also details troubling findings about Iran's past nuclear work.

The IAEA, which monitors nuclear safety around the world, said radiation levels inside and outside Chernobyl remain normal and stable.

North Korea also announced it would withdraw from the IAEA.
