Millar described his party as a "government in waiting" ahead of the next Senedd vote in May 2026.

"We have set out a raft of policies. That's because we're a party which is a government in waiting," Millar told Radio Wales Breakfast.

Party leader Rhun ap Iorwerth has been presenting himself as a first minister in waiting, while the party has published plans on health and the economy it said it would enact if it formed the next Welsh government.

Minister after minister trotted out the same lines as the results came in – waiting lists are starting to come down, the minimum wage has gone up, and new breakfast clubs are opening in schools.

He appeared within the hour and "already had five or six pints in waiting for him" from fans, Mr Tomkinson said.
