Khufu

Pharaoh Khufu was the first Egyptian king to build a pyramid in Giza, a project he began in circa 2550 B.C.

When viewed from the Sphinx, the sun sets between the pyramids of Khufu and Khafre during the summer solstice—though it remains unclear precisely how the ancient Egyptians oriented it this way.

The pyramid was built as a place for Khufu to be buried.

But he has his sights set on discovering a precise date for the construction of the Great Pyramid, which was built by the Old Kingdom Pharaoh Khufu.

He also said that it might help reveal whether the burial chamber of King Khufu still existed inside the pyramid.
