Having completed a search of land in County Offaly on Tuesday, the search moved to the Slieve Bloom mountains in County Laois on Wednesday.

The latest search, in County Laois, is just across the county border from where another search concluded in County Offaly on Tuesday.

The prisoners were brought to the Midlands Regional Hospital, County Laois, on Tuesday afternoon.

It later emerged he had driven to County Wexford where his team, Laois, were playing a match.
