A stage actor recalled the time she was in a production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” with Bela Lugosi, who she worried wanted to suck her blood.

You can picture him slinking off to a goth club to sway and stare away the night to the strains of Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.”

“In ‘Dracula,’ Lugosi is going to London for, I don’t know, world domination,” the director explains.

“I knew nothing about this alternate Dracula film,” he says, referring to the Spanish-language version, shot at night with Latino actors on the same sets used during the day for the Bela Lugosi classic.

I thought vampires were great fun until I saw “The Horror of Dracula” with Bela Lugosi on TV when I was about 8.
