San José Mayor Matt Mahan unveiled an initiative Thursday that would ratchet up the pressure on homeless people to accept shelter or face jail time.

“This is a good day after many months of bad news, of fear, frustration and anger,” San José Mayor Matt Mahan said.

“These allegations are every parent’s worst nightmare,” San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan said at the news conference.
