SNP MSP Marie McNair said members could not control what colleagues said in their personal capacity and that she did not consider it a matter for the committee to decide.

He and two friends were seriously hurt and another friend, James McNair, a.k.a. comedy veteran Jimmy Mack, was killed.

A former chairperson of the Afrikan Student Union, Davis also participated in the McNair Research Scholars Program, a fellowship that supports students of diverse backgrounds to help prepare them to apply for graduate and PhD programs.

McNair, who can also play in midfield, scored in Thursday night's 2-0 victory over Luxembourg at Windsor Park.

McNair is one of only three players remaining in the squad to have featured at the Euro 2016 finals and his passion for Northern Ireland remains strong as more young players come into the set-up.
