Bertie and Jeeves, as the British essayist Alexander Cockburn once asserted, are a pairing as momentous in literary history as Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, or Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

Mike Panza showed up early to a comedy benefit to support the Kennedy campaign for president.

Mr Panza, who works as an environmental officer, might sound like a disaffected Democrat.

"I'd like a return to the middle of the road," said Mr Panza, 44.

The program also includes two new works: “Brel,” a male solo of breadth and power set to music by Jacques Brel; and “The Ballet Master” to music by Simeon ten Holt and Vivaldi, in which Don Quixote, Sancho Panza and Dulcinea make an appearance by way of the performers John Selya, Daniel Ulbricht and Cassandra Trenary.
