Piazzi

An Italian priest and astronomer named Giuseppe Piazzi at the Palermo Observatory had answered a nearly three-decade old question: Why did the orbits of Mars and Jupiter indicate that a planet existed between them even though none could be found?

On Jan. 1, 1801, Piazzi seemed to answer this question by announcing that he had found a "star" which had moved from its position in the Taurus constellation.

“Side effects always happen with clinical trials, but these are typically mild and expected. It is not very common to delay or suspend trials, it does happen though,” said Piazzi at AGCS, whose main peers in underwriting trials include Chubb, HDI and Fairfax’s Newline.

At around the same time, Charles Piazzi Smyth, the Astronomer Royal for Scotland, was scaling volcanic Mount Teide in Tenerife, loaded with bulky telescopes.

When Ceres was discovered in 1801 by Giovanni Piazzi it was hailed as a planet.
