Melissa Mayo, 36, of Poplar Bluff, was in the roadway when she was hit by a pickup truck traveling south on the highway, patrol investigators said.

He hopped a train that he thought was headed for Houston, but instead ended up in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 17 years ago.

She has helped over 50 people navigate online registrations and even drives them herself hours away to Hannibal, Rolla, Potosi, Cape Girardeau, Poplar Bluff and Sedalia, she said.
