Claims for negligence and misfeasance in public office were advanced as part of wider actions against the PSNI, Home Office and Department of Health.

Four fire appliances and a Command Support Unit attended the scene along with a number of emergency ambulances, a Hazardous Area Response Team, a doctor and PSNI.
