President Vladimir Putin, meanwhile, was in the southern Russian city of Pyatigorsk, chairing a meeting with local officials, sitting at a large table at a distance from the other attendees.

The video from the southern region of Stavropol, showed two poll workers handling documents in polling station No. 1085 in the city of Pyatigorsk.

In Pyatigorsk, a city in Russia’s south, over 500 kindergarten students dressed in full military uniform took part in an event described as a “parade of preschool troops” that Kremlin critics said was a perfect illustration of the militarization of Russian society under Mr. Putin.

The routine happened before a Russia second division match Sunday in the city of Pyatigorsk.

TV footage from the game showed the animal being led to the Mashuk-KMV Pyatigorsk club’s stadium, clapping at spectators.
