Rhonda Robinson, one of the actor’s ex-wives, posted a vintage photo of a 1980s Daytime TV Yearbook on Monday showing Chris Robinson and their young sons, writing, “Seems like a lifetime ago. When we got married I was sure it would last forever, but unfortunately it did not. But we did create the best sons. They will miss you. RIP Chris.”

His death leaves only two surviving members of the original lineup — Mike Love and Al Jardine, Wilson’s high school friend who sang lead on early hits like “Help Me Rhonda” and wrote songs for beloved later-period albums like “Surf’s Up” and “Sunflower.”

In the early '60s, he contented himself as the pop songsmith behind a succession of Beach Boys hits in “Surfin’ USA,” “Surfer Girl,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around” and “Help Me, Rhonda,” among a host of others.

Their latest single, “Help Me Rhonda,” which was taken from a new album, has ridden the top of the charts for weeks.

Songs such as Surfin' Safari, Surfin' USA, Fun, Fun, Fun, I Get Around, and Help Me Rhonda celebrated the teenage dreams of surfing, hot rod racing and first romance.
