Metro connected me with Juan Navarro, a bus driver with 25 years’ experience who is the three-time champion of the Roadeo, an annual test of bus operator skills.

The winner in each category will compete in September in the Southeastern Regional Equipment Operators Roadeo in Rogers, Arkansas.

Aug. 25: Head to downtown Blaine for a Public Works Roadeo with truckloads of fun for kids of all ages.

Locally, the Kiwanis Club has been staging its Teen Driving Roadeo with the cooperation of several participants from trucking companies to law enforcement.

The conference includes the popular "Bus Roadeo," a test of skill and agility for bus operators from across the United States.
