Born With Teeth, written Liz Duffy Adams, will take an "irreverent" look at the "high-octane world of two of the theatre's greatest literary icons", the RSC said.

The show is the first RSC stage adaptation of a Roald Dahl novel since Matilda the Musical in 2010.

The production will be directed by RSC's co-artistic director Daniel Evans.

The RSC previously used motion-capture technology in 2021 for a performance of Dream for remote audiences during the pandemic.

The West Midlands will receive a £6.75m share of the pot, aimed at firms specialising in creative technology and industry working with partners including the RSC.
