He is one of several former inmates and RTA alumni who play themselves alongside Domingo and a handful of professional actors, lending the whole production a powerful authenticity.

He recruits the much rougher-edged Divine Eye to join the RTA program, and despite their very different temperaments and Divine Eye’s initial resistance to the vulnerability and unguarded emotions the program elicits, they become unlikely friends.

He was initially skeptical, viewing RTA as “something that brought civilians in so they could throw a pity party for the prisoners and then get a good night’s sleep or a tax break. I didn’t want to be part of that. I’m not a pitiful person.”

Through an unexpected encounter, Maclin discovered the RTA theater program.

The committee’s address is listed in the care of RTA Strategy, a campaign consulting firm that has been paid for its work to help elect Republicans including Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and the former Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker.
