While agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol showed up at food production sites from the Central Coast to the San Joaquin Valley, much of the activity centered on the Oxnard Plain.

Alarm spread through California agricultural centers Tuesday as panicked workers reported that federal immigration authorities were showing up at farm fields and packinghouses from the Central Coast to the San Joaquin Valley.

“I was raised in the San Joaquin Valley,” the band’s former singer Steve Perry told The Times.

The San Joaquin Valley town ranked as the most particle-polluted city in the nation, both for short-term and annual levels, according to the report.

They have argued that the main beneficiaries would be development interests in Southern California and agricultural landowners in the southern San Joaquin Valley.
