Dr. Moffat’s Ozonometer consists of papers prepared in a somewhat similar manner to Schonbein’s; but they do not require immersion in water.

One kind was invented by Dr. Schonbein, the original discoverer of ozone; and the other, which is more generally approved, by Dr. Moffat.

Schonbein’s Ozonometer consists of strips of paper, previously saturated with a solution of starch and iodide of potassium, and dried.

������ö�Բ��𾱲�, however, made his explosive from purified cotton, steeped in a mixture of equal parts of p. 300nitric and sulphuric acids, which when carefully washed, and dried, kept its appearance of cotton wool. 

Gun cotton was brought into public notice by some experiments by its inventor, Professor ������ö�Բ��𾱲�, of Basel, before the chairman of the East India Company, and a number of scientists.
