Seventh-Day Adventists

There are one million members of the church in North America, according to the North American Division of Seventh-Day Adventists.

The shooting took place at Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists, roughly 70 miles north of Sacramento, the Sheriff’s Office announced in a news alert shortly before 2 p.m.

Families of the victims settled a civil negligence suit against the Southeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and La Sierra Academy for an undisclosed amount in 2023, the plaintiff’s attorney, Bobby Thompson, told The Times.

Within a decade, he and other researchers had identified four more blue zones: small communities in Italy, Costa Rica and Greece as well as Loma Linda, Calif., which had a high proportion of Seventh-day Adventists, many of them vegetarians.

These sorts of activities are the norm in this region of San Bernardino County, particularly among the several thousand Seventh-day Adventists who constitute about a third of the population.
