They join a crop of other names on the show's growing cast list including the child actors who will play Harry, Hermione and Ron, as well as John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.

The youngsters join John Lithgow as Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, the school's key professors being played by Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall and Paapa Essiedu, as Severus Snape.

Frost has been cast as Hagrid, McTeer will play Minerva McGonagall, and Essiedu will portray Severus Snape.

It's a suitable image for the ruthless and hard-bitten son who inherited the emperor Septimius Severus' militarized regime and then spent his own reign taking to heart his father's advice: "Enrich the soldiers, and scorn all other men."

With the gladiatrix banned by Septimius Severus in 200 C.E., blotted from Roman history, and overlooked in both “Gladiator II” and its predecessor, it seems we’re still not ready for a woman to carry the sword.
