The outbreak led to a recall this month of ready-to-eat meat products manufactured by Yu Shang Food Inc.

Routine testing of Yu Shang Food’s products uncovered listeria bacteria, the Food Safety and Inspection Service said.

Recent years have seen attempts to recreate the beer of the Vikings, the Late Shang and Western Zhou dynasties of China, and the Sumerians, who are believed to have invented beer.
