Paramount’s controlling shareholder Shari Redstone has pushed for a settlement to facilitate Paramount’s sale to the family headed by billionaire tech mogul Larry Ellison.

According to one journalist at the network who was not authorized to speak publicly, Paramount Global majority shareholder Shari Redstone has asked for story line-ups ahead of the broadcasts in recent months.

But Shari Redstone, controlling shareholder of Paramount Global, and the Skydance partners want to clear the legal obstacle to close their deal, even if it means a settlement.

The human rights and children’s advocate — who wrote a 2011 thriller, “The Gray Zone” — said she was sympathetic to Shari Redstone’s plight.

The news division has fought Paramount Global Chairwoman Shari Redstone’s desire to settle the case so the deal can move forward.
