Among those obsessives, all the way over in Balloch, Scotland, was Sharleen Spiteri, the future singer of rock band Texas.

As well as Rylan, tonight's concert will feature a duet with Sharleen Spiteri from Texas.

It was the band's first time at the festival since 1999, over which time Sharleen Spiteri's voice had developed a subtle rasp that added a welcome touch of grit to their soft-focus rock ballads.

Sharleen Roscoe, from Barrow, Cumbria, had decided to pop the question to Kelly McArdle eight months ago, when she bought the tickets to the Sunderland gig at the Stadium of Light last weekend.

"Then I looked up and saw Sharleen on the floor and the ring out. I usually don’t cry - but I cried, it was amazing. For Pink to acknowledge it made it that extra bit special."
