Government funds earmarked for the city's sky-train were diverted to Sheffield where the more grounded and cheaper South Yorkshire Supertram won the backing of ministers.

Filming took place on a street eight miles from the Longshaw Estate, in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, where residents had installed "swift bricks" to attract the birds.

A man who died after being hit by a car a decade ago has finally been identified, thanks to the efforts of a South Yorkshire officer who worked on the case in his spare time.

An NHS South Yorkshire spokesperson said: "We are committed to reducing health inequalities and supporting dental practices to provide the best possible access and services within our funding allocation."

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner is campaigning in South Yorkshire, where Labour is hoping to hold on to the Doncaster mayoralty and pick up more seats on the council which it already runs.
