SSE says it has already amended its designs to minimise any potential risks to Scottish seabirds.

SSE said those in favour of the scheme had used "flawed logic" and that it would create a "postcode lottery" for energy bills.

Speaking to BBC Radio Ulster's Good Morning Ulster programme, the rapper said his appearance in front of the sold-out SSE Arena crowd was about bringing communities together based on more than just their religion.

Visitors to the SSE Arena in Belfast will have to pay an extra £1 for their first drink as part of a move towards reusable plastic cups.

Scotland has not been hit as hard, with both Scottish Power and SSE reporting just a few localised faults.
